Marissa Shieh is a print and radio journalist. She received her master’s in journalism from New York University’s Science, Health & Environment Reporting Program (SHERP 35) in 2017, and her bachelor’s in chemistry from Williams College in 2015. She is currently working with KQED in San Francisco.

Her work has appeared in Popular Science, Live Science, Scientific American, Scienceline, KQED, KALW, SuperScience, DynaMath, and Math.

Professional associations: Asian American Journalists Association, Association of Independents in Radio, and National Association of Science Writers (member of Diversity Committee).

Fellowships and Awards: National Association of Science Writers Diversity Fellowship, 2017; Arthur L. Carter Fellowship, 2016; Jeffrey Owen Jones ’66 Fellowship in Journalism, 2015; National Association of Science Writers Travel Fellowship, 2015.
